Ibrahim Arafath is a freelance illustrator and art director based in Maldives working in branding, advertising, tech, editorial, motion design (and lately with a lot of sunscreen! 🤩) He works locally and globally with brands such as Mozilla, Politico, WIRED, Read.CV, Dhiraagu, Mula, UNICEF, and UNDP.
"Inspired by brand story, I created artwork featuring a dragonfly, connecting it to the geography and culture of the Maldives. I envisioned the initial appearance of these migrators resting in the remote waters of a northern Haa Dhaalu lagoon, surrounded by red and black reminiscent of the lacquer work in the central Thulhaadhoo Liyelaa in Baa. The yellow patterns echos back to thundukuna, made with the tan reeds from the south in Gaafu Dhaalu Fiori"
